Requirements for Students Receiving
Confirmation
- Confirmation at Mother of
Christ Catholic Church is normally received in the Eighth Grade or above.
This criteria has been established by the United States Conference of
Catholic Bishops.
- To be eligible to receive Confirmation, students must have a minimum of 2 years of preparation in Religious
Education.
- "To receive Confirmation lawfully, a
person who has the use of reason must be suitably instructed, properly
disposed and able to renew the baptismal promises" (Code of Canon
Law 889 §2).
- Students must choose a Sponsor.
- All students and their parents are expected to
attend Mass frequently (weekly).
- Due to the nature of the Confirmation program at
Mother of Christ Catholic Church, students are not permitted in excess of 1
absence. All absences must include a written note of explanation.
- All class work and assignments must be completed.
